26 Classic Movies to Revisit at the Drive In (And 11 new films)

Read Time:1 Minute, 58 Second

classic movie montageAs we know, movie theaters are shuttered, due to mounting case totals of CoVid-19. Happily, drive-in theaters are relevant again and seeing a filmatic resurgence. While there are very few new movies (Palm Springs, Greyhound, and Trolls World Tour are among the six we’ve covered below), classic favorites — the oldies but goodies — are now brightening up our outdoor mega-screens.

We’ve been paying attention. RunPee began adding Peetimes to the app’s database 2008, but didn’t write regular movie reviews until 2015. So we decided to backtrack a few decades to dip into the Well of Souls, where all good movies are kept. And write them up for the RunPee app and blog. Each week we’re filling in the blanks on more treasured favorites.

Here’s a round-up of 26 classics we’ve covering this summer, in no particular order, many of which can be seen at drive in theaters across the USA:

If it doesn’t have a link, it just means we haven’t gotten to them yet —  stay tuned. Most of these are A level films and we’re enjoying revisiting them!

A Return to Americana – Drive In Movie Theaters Are Back in Style

Must have app if you love the movies

If you’re like me and enjoy a 92oz soda as part of the movie experience, you’ll be thankful for this app telling you the best times to go for a quick break. Whether that’s to refill your soda or recycle it.

Possibly an even better feature is the info on if the movie has after credits scenes. There’s nothing worse than sitting there reading about who the key grip was, then finding out that’s all you did. I blame Marvel for the stupid trend.

Seriously, I see a dozen movies a month and use this app every single time. Worth every Penny of the infinity coin thing I bought.

Developers note: the RunPee app is now, and always will be, 100% free. Donations are optional.
