Marvel Cinematic Universe – WandaVision

Spider-Man: No Way Home is doing gangbusters in theaters, for good reason. It’s really digging into the Multiverse Saga that began with last year’s Disney+ MCU shows, especially WandaVision and Loki. Our UK RunPeep Rob breaks down why this first show is worth seeing before Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

RunPee News

the_355_square NEW Movie Review – The 355
I could pick this movie apart with a fine-toothed comb but we’d be here all day. So I’ll pick my top two complaints and leave the rest up to you.
Grade: D+
First View Review – First Blood
In the same way that Star Wars has been retrospectively retitled Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV), so First Blood is sometimes known as Rambo: First Blood. While the Star Wars saga was originally planned as a nine-part epic chronicle (even if only in George Lucas’s head) the 1972 novel by David Morrell was only ever meant as a single, standalone story.
Grade: A
Documentary Review – The Beatles: Get Back
The Beatles: Get Back looks as though it was filmed last week on digital equipment rather than in 1969 on film stock and left in a shed for fifty years. I’m guessing about the last bit but you know what I mean. It is absolutely pristine to the point of being able to read the lyrics scribbled out on sheets of paper dotted around.
Grade: A+
Christmas Classic First View Review – A Christmas Carol (1938)
We still have a few reviews from 2021’s holiday season to let you know about. I’ve seen a fair few versions of A Christmas Carol, or Scrooge as it’s sometimes called, but this 1938 version is a new one on me!
Grade: A-
home-alone-2-donald-trump First Watch: Home Alone 2 – Lost in New York (1992)
More of the same from A+ the 1990 classic, but a lot less fun. There’s a blink and you’ll miss it Donald Trump cameo —  a”huge” double-take for me WTF in 2022, considering what’s happened in the real world since 1992!
Grade: C+
Indie Movie Review – The Handler
Vinnie lets Ryker know that he knows a lot about his family and friends and, if he doesn’t comply, the insinuation is that they may well be in for a spot of bother. And those few sentences are all that was needed for an hour and a half of violence and mayhem.
Grade: C-
