The superhero movie that broke our hearts.

2018 has been an interesting year for movies. It’s the year superheroes inspired us and broke our hearts like never before. It’s a year where diversity was celebrated at the box office. It’s also a year devoid of the usual award bait: no war movies, no Holocaust dramas, and hardly any movies about royalty. (Sadly, no romances between fish creatures and mute girls either.)

Out of all the original and unusual films that have come out this year, these are my ten favorite films, on my personal movie blog Etched in Gold:

    Well, there was that one war film. A Private War.

    Ugh. Sure, it was good, but I don’t like watching that kind of thing.
