This was not Pixar’s best, but admittedly, that is a high bar. The moral of the story is good, not great. My complaint is that this isn’t nearly as compelling to adults, at least to me and my wife, as many of the Pixar movies are. However, there were about a dozen kids in the theater who applauded at the end, so at least it appeals to the younger crowd, which is the most important thing.

Frenetic

I noticed the pacing in Elio is often frenetic, which isn’t the case for most Pixar movies. The best of the Pixar movies have a thoughtful pace and rely on emotional attachment to characters to grab the attention of kids instead of relying on hijinks, which is most of what this movie does.

Grade: C+

About The Peetimes: It was hard to find Peetimes. The story cuts from one short scene to another. I tried to keep out the action scenes, but it’s not completely possible.

I think the 1st or 3rd Peetime is the best.

There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Elio.
