Tony Todd as the Candyman. There is not one other person on the planet that could do what Tony Todd did for Candyman. I just wish he was in this reboot more.

Peetimes: I have tickets to see the opening show Thursday, Sept 2nd, at 6:00 PM Eastern. I’ll add Peetimes ASAP after the movie is over. I should have at least two added by 9:00 PM, which will just barely make it in time for people on Pacific Time.Really sorry we don’t have Peetimes prior to the movie release. One of the Peeps lives in England and usually gets Peetimes for movies like this prior to it opening here in the USA, but they don’t get to see it until the next day. 🙁

Time Loop Movie Short – Groundhog Day For A Black Man
At only 4+ minutes, this time looping movie short is fantastic, funny, and thought-provoking. I’ve linked to this ‘movie’ in the review here, and there’s no reason not to watch it right now. Now, my friends.
Grade: A
Groundhog Day Themed Movie Short Review – Two Distant Strangers
While Groundhog Day for a Black Man (see above) is incredibly amusing, this 30 minute, Academy-award-winning short on the same theme is definitively NOT fun, but extremely good, in an “OMG that’s so evil” kind of way. If you like Groundhog Day time loop films, you’ll enjoy what craziness Two Distant Strangers contributes to the theme, and learn a few racial realities as well (stick through the end credits…ouch).
Grade: A
Indie Movie Review – Like A Dirty French Novel
As Like A Dirty French Novel starts to unfold, there is a certain feeling of “what the hell is going on here?” In a similar way to Pulp Fiction, there is a narrative discontinuity and event segmentation.
Grade: B
The Big James Bond Rewatch – Casino Royale (2006)
In 2006 we were really getting into the whole colour blind/gender blind/age blind casting thing, so having hair that was a bit too light is a minor thing — definitely not worth going to the trouble and cost of setting up an Anti-Daniel Craig as Bond website. Honestly, this was a fantastic reboot, and here’s why.
Grade: A+
