Pixar continues to prove why it’s the premier animation studio. They tell stories with real depth and emotional weight while still landing laughs for kids and adults alike. No one else does both so well.
Main Characters
What I loved most was how organically the film broadens its cast of main characters. By the end, I wanted to go back and rewatch the entire franchise — and I don’t think there’s a higher compliment you can pay a movie, especially the fifth one in a series. My one gripe: the minor characters get a little lost. A few of the faces I was looking forward to felt almost forgotten.

Historical Depth
The writers add real depth to the franchise by reaching back in time — further, I think, than any Toy Story film has gone before — to give us the backstory of some of the toys. It’s the kind of world-building that makes everything you already loved feel a little richer.
Tackling Sensitive Topics with Maturity
This is where the film really impressed me. Jessie has what amounts to a race problem with the devices, but over the course of the story she comes to understand their point of view, and everyone ends up working together toward a happy ending. This isn’t a movie where the bad guy gets defeated — it’s one where different characters learn to see each other’s perspective and then choose to cooperate. Pulling that off without bludgeoning the audience, without it curdling into a lecture, takes real skill. The Pixar writers have it.

I've loved this app for years and use it at the theater and home. Super easy to use and so helpful to know when it's a good time to run for the restroom. I notify my kids when it's close to time, so I don't end up running them to the restroom multiple times. (Updated review from 4 to 5 . I'd had an issue with the app while at the theater and it was quickly resolved with FANTASTIC customer service. Thanks, RunPee!)

About The Peetimes: All three Peetimes are pretty good. I think the last one is the best, but it’s a long chase scene, so there’s action. I like it because it has the least amount of plot or character development.
There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Toy Story 5.

Plot
When Bonnie receives a Lilypad tablet as a gift and becomes obsessed, Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs become exponentially harder when they have to go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.
Creator and developer of the RunPee app. When something doesn’t work right in the app it’s pretty much his fault. 🙂
Aspiring author. Would like to finish his “Zombie Revelations” trilogy if he could break away for working on RunPee and the cottage he’s building for RunPee Mom.
