“The Moment” is an odd duck.
It stars and is about singer Charli XCX preparing for a concert tour and film in late 2024, after “brat summer” and “Kamala Harris is brat” and all the other “brat” references were all the rage. In real life? There was no tour – never happened. But what if there was? That’s what this comedy tries to answer.

This is filmed very on-the-fly to make you feel like “you’re there,” as Charli deals with the stress of preparing for a major tour where her creative director and tour film director completely disagree, as well as dealing with bad management decisions that occur all around her.
It all seems believable enough – Charli seems very natural here, and Alexander Skarsgård is great as the tour film director who doesn’t understand her vibe in the least. (Rosanna Arquette even pops up as the head of her music label.) And there are indeed a few moments where I literally laughed out loud.

This is a great app. I wish more people would support it
This app provides info about movies, reviews, ratings from people who have seen it before and after viewing. It has links to info about the movies. It let's you know when there will be a lull in the action and how long it will last. If you want to know what happens during that time, you can check the brief synopsis (you have to click a link, so no accidental spoilers). It has a timer you can set (silent) to alert you to a break. It also tells you whether there is anything extra during or after the credits. It's really a wonderful app. I've subscribed for a couple of years to support the developers, but I noticed some of the links to provide feedback didn't seem to work today. They also made it free, with voluntary donations to see the pee-times. If you haven't tried it, I encourage you to do so, and subscribe if you like it. I really hope the app is supported so it can continue to be maintained!
Developers note: RunPee doesn't make much money but it supports itself nicely. Donations are appreciated, but not required. We'll add as many movies to the database as we can until there are no more movie theaters.

But really, is there enough here to satisfy any audience? If you’re a huge fan of Charli, you may be excited to see her, but there’s next to no singing or dancing here, and you hear very little of her music. But if you’re NOT a huge fan of Charli, or if you have no idea who she is, this might feel like eavesdropping on an inside joke. Will it make you want to see it, let alone really enjoy it? I don’t think so.
I didn’t hate it—I wasn’t checking my watch—but ultimately? A shrug.
