Materialists is fine but not worth theater prices. Dakota Johnson does well with what she’s given, handling the film’s shifts in tone better than the script deserves. Her performance keeps things watchable even when the story drags. The movie works as background entertainment but doesn’t demand your full attention. Save your money and watch this one at home – it’s the kind of film that works for a Netflix night when you want something easy.

About The Peetimes: There are 2 Peetimes, I recommend the 1st Peetime as the 2nd Peetime has some plot/character development.

Plot
A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.
RunPee.com owes RunPee Sis a huge debt of gratitude. She sees any movie needed with no complaints and has done so for ten years (even basing Thanksgiving and Christmas family festivities around the seeing films). In 2015 Sis ran the entire RunPee enterprise herself, while RunPee Dan, Jilly and Mom went traipsing off to Europe. Sis is the spider in the web holding the RunPee family together — besides being a funny, well rounded person, and a joyous pleasure to be around. Her favorite films start and end with horror (which thank goodness she’s happy to see, since most of us don’t have the stomach for it) — but also likes silly comedies, sad dramas, and musicals of all types. If you’ve used a Peetime for a scary film, you probably have RunPee Sis to thank for it.
Favorite movie genre: Horror, horror, and more horror. The more disturbing, the better. Period.
I was hoping for a lot more here. There was so little chemistry between her and Chris Evans. And they hardly talked the whole movie until the end. Chris gave a wooden performance. Pedro’s character seemed really interesting, but once they got serious, he faded away and his intrigue disappeared.
Fun Easter egg ok the credits where the cave couple showed up.
