Saw X is by far the most sedate of the entire franchise. My 10-year-old granddaughter begged me to take her and I finally caved. I had really tried to talk her out of it because if there was one thing I was sure of, his torture devices would scar her for life. Let’s fast forward halfway through the movie and she leans over and says, “I thought you said this was scary.” I think that sums it up pretty well.
Where this one lacks scare factors, it makes up for in heart. This is the first time that I was 100% rooting for John Kramer. Even though this one is not as bloody or methodical as the previous nine, I loved it the best.
