Movie Review – Meg 2: The Trench

Meg 2 The Trench

The first movie (The Meg) wasn’t great, but it was surprisingly enjoyable. My wife wanted to watch Meg 2 with me, so I rewatched The Meg with her the night before the sequel’s release. The Meg doesn’t try to be something it’s not. They just have fun with the concept and go over the top enough to make it fun.

This movie, not so much.

The plot and most of the characters are based on bad clichés. To give it a little credit, there are a few cool scenes that are fresh and unintentionally poignant after the recent Titanic sub-disaster.

The end of the movie action is almost cartoonish in it’s action and character stupidity. It’s like the writers had ideas for action scenes and made them happen no matter how unlikely it is that a real person would behave as they wrote. And some of the action scenes were so over the top as to be comical. I can only imagine that they intended it that way, but in m y opinion it just turned into a farce.

Obviously, this isn’t a movie that warrants a lot of deep thought. I think they could have made a much better movie if they didn’t try to make Jason Statham the hero at every opportunity.

Grade: D+

About The Peetimes: I have three Peetimes. They’re all pretty good and avoid any of the good action scenes. I would recommend the 2nd Peetime as the best, but there’s not a huge difference in any of the others.

There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Meg 2: The Trench.

Best app ever!

RunPee is the only app we use before movies and afterward. not only does RunPee tell you when it’s a good time to leave the theater, kids these days ask if there’s anything during/after the credits, and RunPee lets parents know when there might be some thing that a kid might miss!

RunPee has tidbits, ratings, leave the theater times, and lengths. This is THE VITAL APP for watching any movie!

We used it when my wife was pregnant, and we have recommended it to every pregnant gal we know! How else can you enjoy a movie when you have to go out so often?!
