I know this won’t sit well with a lot of Star Wars fans, but excuse me for asking, “Why in the world does anyone like The Mandalorian and Grogu?” There’s no drama to speak of, certainly no great acting; the action was ho-hum. If you ask me, this is the poster child for today’s average Hollywood/Disney movie.
I have no idea why Pedro Pascal ever agreed to take this role. The character is defined by being emotionless. There are literally hundreds of actors who could have done just as good a job in this role, because it demands so little talent to portray an emotionless warrior who is behind a mask that hides any facial expressions except for a few scenes. This role reminds me of Hugo Weaving’s masterful job as V in V for Vendetta. We never see Hugo’s face, but he projects such a presence through his mannerisms and vocal tones. Hugo shows what is possible with a character that has zero facial expressions. The writing, directing, and acting of Mando’s role remind me of Brie cheese: it’s like cheese, with all the cheese flavor squeezed out of it.

There were two things that I did like about the movie. It was great to see Sigourney Weaver as an X-Wing pilot, and the character Rotta the Hutt was genuinely good stuff; both well-written and voice-acted. Good enough that it could have carried a lot more weight.

Water drinkers unite
Run pee is the best app for people who find themselves needing to pee a lot but also not wanting to miss any action. The app gives you the best times to use the bathroom during a movie while also telling you when to leave and which lines to listen for! It not only gives you the time you should go pee, but it also explains to you what is happening during the break. I helped I use this app every time I go to the movies now. My god father recommended this app to 5 years ago and it’s been in my phone ever since! Highly recommended.

Creator and developer of the RunPee app. When something doesn’t work right in the app it’s pretty much his fault. 🙂
Aspiring author. Would like to finish his “Zombie Revelations” trilogy if he could break away for working on RunPee and the cottage he’s building for RunPee Mom.

You may be looking at the movie from the wrong perspective. I saw it as a great movie for the 10 through 12-year-olds who will become the next generation of Star Wars fans. For that age group, it was a great introduction.
True, there is that. I’m more looking at it from the POV of a kid who grew up on Star Wars and has since been so disapointed by the stories that it’s become a burden to watch the new content. 🙂
