The Bad Guys 2 was good – not great like the 2022 original that caught me completely off guard, but I still enjoyed it, and judging by the laughter around me, so did everyone else in the theater.
I know exactly why I wasn’t as captivated this time around. That lightning-in-a-bottle uniqueness of the first film just wasn’t there. We already got that fresh take on the “villains trying to go good” concept, so this sequel had to find a different path. What they chose to give us instead was a deeper dive into each character’s backstory, and honestly, that was pretty entertaining.

The animation remained top-notch, and the voice cast slipped back into their characters like comfortable shoes. While it didn’t have me walking out of the theater with that same “wow, that was something special” feeling I had after the first one, it delivered exactly what a good sequel should – more time with characters we’ve grown to love, without completely screwing up what made us love them in the first place.
If you enjoyed the first Bad Guys, you’ll have a good time with this one. Just don’t expect it to recreate that original magic. Sometimes that’s okay.

Plot
The Bad Guys are struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys, when they are pulled out of retirement and forced to do “one last job” by an all-female squad of criminals.

Her favorite films start and end with horror (which thank goodness she’s happy to see, since most of us don’t have the stomach for it) — but also likes silly comedies, sad dramas, and musicals of all types. If you’ve used a Peetime for a scary film, you probably have RunPee Sis to thank for it.
