It’s probably not a shocker that February is generally a slow month for movies. Every few years we get a Black Panther, Thor Ragnarok, or Deadpool movie in February, but those are the exceptions. This year (2024), February had some lackluster movies, to say the least. Movies like Drive-Away Dolls, Bob Marley, Lisa Frankenstein, Argylle, and Madam Web. (Those last two were cinematic abominations.)
And then, on the first of March, came DUNE part 2. (Technically, opening day was Feb 29th, but we’ll go ahead and give that to March.)

If that doesn’t count as Worm Sign then I don’t know what does. The first three days of March saw 1/2 the total of all of February—27,674 movie views for February and 15,362 for March 1-3. March is on pace to quadruple the traffic of February. I don’t think we’ll get quit that much of a traffic boost because the worm sign will fade away throughout the month. But there are a handful of notable movies left to release in March that will bring significant traffic.
Coming up we have:
- Kung Fu Panda 4
- Imaginary
- The American Society of Magical Negroes
- Arthur the King
- Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
- Godzilla x Kong: the New Empire
I’m not suggesting that any of these movies will come close to the numbers generated by Dune pt2, but I’ll bet a few of them kick the crap out of February’s best movie Argylle.
