I went to see Pressure expecting something along the lines of Saving Private Ryan—an action-adventure war drama. It was anything but. There’s maybe ten minutes of battle footage, at most.
Instead, Pressure focuses on the 72 hours leading up to D-Day, and it never tries to overwhelm the audience. What stands out most is the restraint in the way the story is told—nothing ever feels forced. Pressure lets the pressure build.
Knowing less about D-Day than I probably should, the restrained approach of this film really stood out and made the suspense hit harder. It’s almost like a conversation—the quieter someone gets, the more you lean in and pay attention.

Pressure may be a modern film, but it feels like it’s from another era—and I mean that as a major compliment. Everything feels period-correct, right down to the dishes sitting on a table. The cinematography, the music in both the foreground and background, the pacing—there’s no unnecessary flash, no over-the-top dialogue, nothing that feels modern or out of place. It feels authentic in every detail.
Pressure is a brand-new, old-school epic. If you didn’t recognize the cast and the color was stripped away, you might think you were watching a black-and-white film from the 1950s—and it would work just as well.

This app is the best wingman for a movie goer, especially when you have to go. It even has a vibrating timer that is spot on for those 'go times' some of us need! There are many other features that are wonderful. It even lets you know when the kill scenes are coming up for the people and animals for those who may have sensitivities to that type of content. The staff go above and beyond!

Pressure was a surprise – an old-school style epic that really worked for me.
There are a few good peetimes if you need a break.
The first one comes up quick and you don’t miss anything of real substance – mostly a montage of filler visuals.
The second peetime is longer. It too has some “filler footage,” but it carries more emotional weight, as one of the main characters is dealing with something heavy. You’ll miss a bit of that but you can still pick right up when you return.
The third peetime is best. You can be a minute or two late and not miss a beat. The film hits a mark shortly thereafter that sets the tone for the rest of the film.
There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Pressure.
