It’s the worst sports movie I’ve ever seen. The movie didn’t take the subject matter seriously. Taika Waititi admitted in the movie trailer that he know nothing about football. I’m guessing he doesn’t know anything about sports in general. The movie kind of feels like what you’d get from a sports movie if it’s written and directed by someone who’s not an avid sports fan.
Michael Fassbender was completely wasted in this movie. He was fine, but this movie is beneath him. Not to mention Elisabeth Moss. What on earth was she doing in this movie. She’s a talented actress and much better than the bit role she has in this movie.

There’s a documentary about the events in this story. I wish I had watched that instead.

About The Peetimes: I think the 2nd Peetime is the best. It’s all a training and recruiting montage. You won’t miss anything important.
There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Next Goal Wins.
