Christopher Nolan has set his sights on one of the most epic stories in all of literature: Homers, The Odyssey. The movie is currently slated for theaters on July 17th, 2026.
As one would expect with any Nolan production, the cast list is notable, including:
- Zendaya as Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war (speculated)
- Tom Holland as Telemachus (Odysseus’s son)
- Anne Hathaway as Penelope, wife of Odysseus
- Robert Pattinson unknown
- Matt Damon as Odysseus
- Charlize Theron as Calypso, a nymph goddess
- Lupita Nyong’o as Circe, a sorceress capable of transforming people into animals
Wait, that can’t be right. Where’s Cillian Murphy’s name? 🙂

All I want to know is: is Hans Zimmer doing the soundtrack? I hope so.
And it is interesting that there would be two Odyssey movies in a short time. The Return, starring Ralph Fiennes as Odysseus, was released in December of 2024 and is now streaming. It has a 78% critics and 76% audience rating from RottenTomatoes.

One of the most useful apps I've ever come across. I've used it for years and recommended it to all my friends. Even if I'm not the type to have to pee during movies often, being able to pull up the app and pass my phone to my mom/friend/grandma so that they know when to go to the bathroom has been invaluable. Because then I don't have to summarize anything when they get back!!
