Spider-Man: No Way Home

When I read about the multiverse plot for Spider-Man: No Way Home I thought it would either be awesome, or horrible. I was hugely relieved to see that they landed closer to the side of awesome. The writers—Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers—both wrote the previous two Spider-Man movies together, so fortunately No Way Home maintains the playfulness of the previous two.

RunPee News

Movie Review – The Matrix Resurrections
It isn’t like they painted the sky with rainbows, but it was enjoyable, as long as you don’t ask too many questions.
Grade: B+
Movie Review – The King’s Man
Better than the second Kings Men, but not as good as the first. It’s a fun origin story.
Grade: A-
Movie Review – Sing 2
Fun, but not as good as the first.
Grade: B
NEW in theaters: Nightmare Alley
Give this movie a chance. Don’t give up on it because I can guarantee that they bring things full circle and you’ll be amazed at how they did it. Bravo, Hollywood!!
Grade: A
Retrospective: The Matrix After 20 Years
Dan is what we’d call around here a Matrix expert. You’re going to want to read his post and then do a full Matrix rewatch before the long-awaited 4th movie in the franchise comes to life this week. (Also, think about catching The Animatrix to fill in some story gaps — like who that ‘kid’ was, and how the War against the Machines all started.)
matrix-neo-bullets_squarejpg The Matrix Rewatch Review
If you’re seeing The Matrix for the first time, remember this was the first film to attempt anything like this. At all. It’s a game-changer that subsequent dystopian sci-fi films emulated to varying degrees over the years. The difference is STYLE.
Grade: A+
Christmas Documentary Review – ’Twas The Fight Before Christmas (2021)
Jeremy Morris seems a nice affable sort of chap. He even says he was told not to appear in the film because they’ll make him look like a crazy person. As it turns out, “they’ didn’t need to do much work. He says “he is the only American, probably the only person in the world, who has been banned by a federal court from decorating for Christmas.”
Grade: B+
love-actually-perfect_square Rewatch Review – Love Actually (A Brit Perspective)

While the British obsession with tea and biscuits is apocryphal but widely known, just how believable is it? I guess it’s time to trot out the old curate’s egg analogy and say that it is in parts. There are things like the chain swearing Billy Mack which rang true to me; I do have a go-to stream of invective for times of high stress.
Grade: A+
Christmas Classic Rewatch Review – Scrooge (1951)
This is one of my all-time favourites and it gets an annual rewatch, along with It’s A Wonderful Life, Love Actually, and A Christmas Story.
Grade: A+
