October is my favorite month: it contains my favorite holiday, and I know Hollywood will provide me with my fix of new horror movies. I can’t get enough of them.

Until last night.

The Empty Man really disappointed me. They totally dropped the ball on editing and painting a picture that would make us care.

Character development was pretty much nonexistent. To me, the first step in a good movie is making sure we feel some sort of emotion for the characters. Whether it be love or hate, it matters. Honestly, there were a few people that I didn’t even know their names by the time the movie was done.

It was boring. The Empty Man dragged on way too long, and the only emotion I felt was relief that it was over.

I’m not familiar with any of the actors that were in it, therefore I wasn’t able to judge how their acting stacked up. None of them really popped or stood out from the crowd.

Don’t bother

This was a dreary movie with a semi-interesting plot that was not executed very well. In my opinion, save yourself the ticket price and wait for it to pop into Netflix.

Grade: D+

About The Peetimes: I recommend the 2nd Peetime. The first one is there only for emergencies as it has some plot development. I was able to sum it up easily and it wouldn’t disrupt the flow of the movie but there was a lot of information given in a short amount of time.

There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of The Empty Man. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)

Must have app if you love the movies

If you’re like me and enjoy a 92oz soda as part of the movie experience, you’ll be thankful for this app telling you the best times to go for a quick break. Whether that’s to refill your soda or recycle it.

Possibly an even better feature is the info on if the movie has after credits scenes. There’s nothing worse than sitting there reading about who the key grip was, then finding out that’s all you did. I blame Marvel for the stupid trend.

Seriously, I see a dozen movies a month and use this app every single time. Worth every Penny of the infinity coin thing I bought.

Developers note: the RunPee app is now, and always will be, 100% free. Donations are optional.
