If we’re really good, and really lucky, we can have nice things this summer — new movies at actual walk-in theaters near you. And not just any movies: genuine blockbusters! YAY…drumroll…. for Tenet and Mulan!
After months in global lock-down and endless quarantine, people are ready to be transported to great science fiction and fantasy worlds.
According to the NY Times: “In recent weeks, a tentative timeline for reopening America’s movie theaters began to take shape. It involved pushing to get 75 percent of the country’s 5,548 cinemas selling tickets again this summer, enough to justify the wide release of two potential blockbusters.”

Here’s the scoop, assuming the Co-Vid-19 virus doesn’t change these plans:
Tenet
On July 16, 2020, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is set to make a splash. It’s a time-travelling based epic, and apparently a mind-minder…and not much else is being released about the plot. My sense is it’s better to know less going in than to be spoiled.
According to the blog NME about Tenet: “From Interstellar and Inception to the Dark Knight trilogy, bigger is always better and Nolan rarely fails to deliver unparalleled thrills. But he’s a cryptic filmmaker, keeping as many details as possible under wraps until the very last moment.”
Notice that TENET is a palindome, spelled the same backwards and forwards. This is not a coincidence.
Also, by way of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word tenet means: “a principle, belief, or doctrine generally held to be true especially : one held in common by members of an organization, movement, or profession.”
You may feel free to draw your own conclusions. And BTW, Inception was the single most difficult movie for RunPee to make Peetimes from.

about the RunPee app.February 13, 2019
RunPee is an excellent app that has all the info you need when going to the movies. Whenever I go to a movie, I open up the app and know when the best time to dip to the bathroom is. They have pee times for movies just a few hours after their release and it shows the dedication the team has for the service. Definitely recommend for any movie-goer.

Mulan
Then, on July 24, Disney’s long awaited live action princess movie Mulan hits the screens. Is Mulan based on a true story? ….Well, not really. Is the live action version based on a beloved Disney animated movie? Most definitely yes.
Mulan has the distinction of being a Disney Princess with no lineage, no marriage to a prince, and only gets the princess title by way of being a freaking war hero. Has any other princess serves their country so heroically?
I leave that to your debate.

Is this actually happening?
Keep firmly in mind this all depends on how the USA, and the world globally, handles the recent reopening of theaters and public venues. In two weeks, we might be in serious trouble, with more deaths and a reinstatement of the lock-down…probably with more restrictions and serious consequences for violations.
We have to be super aware right now. Follow social distancing rules. Wear your face coverings, don’t touch anything if you can hep it, and seek medical advice/isolate yourself at the first sign of flu-like symptoms.
If we want the world to be unbroken, we have to be compliant now.
Here’s hoping RunPee will be there will bells on opening night to get Peetimes for Tenet and Mulan!
