Movie Review – Don’t Look Up (2021) If you want to forget that this is a satire you can still enjoy it as a comedy/disaster movie, a fairly rare genre. But the satirical elements are brilliant. |

West Side Story (2021) Why take a luminous, stylish classic like the 1961 film — which won 11 well-earned Academy Awards — and tell it straight? I don’t understand making a reboot if you don’t have something unique to bring to the table. Grade: B- |
Christmas Movie Review – ’Twas The Fight Before Christmas (2021) There are people who are quite happy to bully people and boss them around and use their beliefs as an excuse. Even if it’s a belief in Christmas. Grade: B+ |
Movie Review – National Champions The purpose of this film was for telling the story of the fight for fair compensation, equality, and respect for student-athletes. I think they did a great job, but there isn’t a lot of football itself. Grade: B+ |
Non-Christmas Christmas Movies – Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) Here’s a toast to Robert Downer Jr and Val Kilmer in a classic buddy cop flick that has to do with being detectives, being gay, and being around Christmas. Grade: A- |

Doing a Matrix rewatch: don’t forget The Animatrix It’s been almost 20 years since The Matrix came out. If you’re planning on seeing the new Matrix: Resurrections then a rewatch is in order. The Animatrix isn’t just a cartoon. It adds some real meat to the Matrix Trilogy and shouldn’t be overlooked. |
Indie Movie Review – Red Pill Since the 4th and long-awaited Matrix movie is coming this Christmas, we jumped to see if this was a movie about how close the Matrix has come to modern culture. But it’s not really about that, and I’m pretty sure they made up their own definition of the Red Pill. Grade: C |
