Of Wizards and Mutants: Ian McKellen turns 80

Who’s the last actor to create a character written by Shakespeare? By that I mean who was the last person to get a part written by Shakespeare and be the first one to actually perform it? None other than Magneto/Gandalf himself. So how does one of our greatest living actors become the first person to ever perform a speech written towards the end of the sixteenth century? Perhaps, in the spirit of great drama, I’ll leave that question hanging until the end.

We had to wait through 3 phases of the MCU, plus an extra year for Covid to FINALLY get the Black Widow movie we’ve been wanting to see. They didn’t disappoint.

Boy dumps girl. Girl casts spell. Spell summons demon. Demon eats boy. So, it’s a love story then?
Grade: B
blackstock-boneyard_square Indie Movie Review – Blackstock Boneyard
Racism, zombies, courtroom scenes, and lynchings…this could have been a decent movie, except that it’s not.
Grade: D-
RunPeeNX_300 Children’s Book Review – Harry Cat’s Pet Puppy (A Cricket in Times Square novel)
Some cute moments between the animals and a good message keep this third book in the Cricket series good, but it’s less enchanting somehow. Maybe it’s the lack of Chester Cricket. Still worth tracking down if you’re a fan of Harry Cat and Tucker Mouse, with a solid goodly B grade.
