Supernova was a very unique movie. While watching it I was awestruck by the performance of Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth. I had read a few interviews done with the two actors and loved how they threw themselves into the characters. The articles were mainly about straight men playing gay men. They both wanted to understand the roles and bring them to life. They sure did. The emotions and depth of the two main characters were perfect. Well done, guys!
It’s an extremely slow moving movie and I get it now. The build-up and pure, gut wrenching road they traveled down was devastating. You could feel the pain.
This movie may not appeal to everyone. It’s a deep movie, very dramatic and sorrowful. I have to admit it was a hard movie to watch. It opens your eyes to the devastation that love causes. So if you’re even somewhat sad, this one will definitely make you cry.

However, if you want to watch Tucci and Firth light up the screen and prove what splendid actors they are, go see it. I’m thinking some nominations should come their way. If not, I’ll know for sure those awards are rigged.
Grade: A

There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Supernova. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)
