Movie Review – Insidious: The Red Door

Patrick Wilson’s directorial debut was a solid ten for me. I was very curious about his vision, he embraced his additional role just as well as he embraces the role of Josh Lambert for over twelve years now.

There is a cohesive feeling of family. The actors have melded so well together over the years that it comes through loud and clear on the screen. In “Insidious: The Red Door,” the children have grown up and they become the pivotal decision-makers. Don’t get me wrong, in the background the parents are still trying their best to understand and solve the problem. There is friction between the younger and older generation which adds another level to the ominous vibe that is present from start to finish.

All in all, I really loved it. As a lot of you know, I usually take my ten-year-old granddaughter to my movies. She is a trooper and can handle pretty much anything but last night, she leaned over a nd whispered to me, “Why do you hate me so much? Why did you bring me to see this movie!?” At one point the whole theater jumps and screams and I had to go fetch my little one off the ceiling. This movie scared her. As a horror movie aficionado, this pleased me to no end.

I highly recommend the movie, hold onto those popcorn buckets because the jump scenes are plentiful.

Grade: A-

About The Peetimes: I tried really hard to not disrupt the flow while choosing these Peetimes. It was a difficult task, in my personal opinion if I had to pee, I would hold it and do the peepee dance.
