Movie Review - Chaos Walking
Let me start off by saying I had not heard of this movie at all until RunPee Dan asked me to see it. I also didn't know it was based on a book.
That said, I don't know how the movie stacked up to the book. I'm wondering if the book was more detailed with the back story, because I was kind of lost on certain aspects. I bet the people that read the book knew what was going on -- but me, I didn't get it.
Movies like Chaos Walking aren't really in my preferred genre. The whole dystopian world type films have never appealed to me. So I'm hesitant to critique it or grade it, since I'm not the target audience.
I can say this: the sets were awesome. It was really pretty and they did a great job submerging you into it.
Word of Caution: There are scenes involving animal suffering in this movie. I made Alert Peetimes for both, in case you'd rather not see them.
Grade: B-
I added 2 Alert Peetimes that involve animal distress; both of which upset my 8 year old granddaughter.
I would recommend the middle Peetime.
There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Chaos Walking. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)
