Let me start off by saying I had not heard of this movie at all until RunPee Dan asked me to see it. I also didn’t know it was based on a book.
That said, I don’t know how the movie stacked up to the book. I’m wondering if the book was more detailed with the back story, because I was kind of lost on certain aspects. I bet the people that read the book knew what was going on — but me, I didn’t get it.

Movies like Chaos Walking aren’t really in my preferred genre. The whole dystopian world type films have never appealed to me. So I’m hesitant to critique it or grade it, since I’m not the target audience.
I can say this: the sets were awesome. It was really pretty and they did a great job submerging you into it.

Got this back when I was pregnant, but I'll be keeping it forever, it's just so handy. I don't go to the movie theater that often (even back before quarantine when you actually could...) but I make sure the app and the movie list are all current and updated, cause it's so handy! It's great for running late cause you can read their summary, obviously awesome for bathroom or snack breaks mid movie, and I also love that it tells you if there's anything after the credits which is very handy.

Word of Caution: There are scenes involving animal suffering in this movie. I made Alert Peetimes for both, in case you’d rather not see them.
Grade: B-
I added 2 Alert Peetimes that involve animal distress; both of which upset my 8 year old granddaughter.
I would recommend the middle Peetime.
There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Chaos Walking. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)
Rated (PG-13) Violence and Language
Genres: Adventure, Sci-Fi
RunPee.com owes RunPee Sis a huge debt of gratitude. She sees any movie needed with no complaints and has done so for ten years (even basing Thanksgiving and Christmas family festivities around the seeing films). In 2015 Sis ran the entire RunPee enterprise herself, while RunPee Dan, Jilly and Mom went traipsing off to Europe. Sis is the spider in the web holding the RunPee family together — besides being a funny, well rounded person, and a joyous pleasure to be around. Her favorite films start and end with horror (which thank goodness she’s happy to see, since most of us don’t have the stomach for it) — but also likes silly comedies, sad dramas, and musicals of all types. If you’ve used a Peetime for a scary film, you probably have RunPee Sis to thank for it.
Favorite movie genre: Horror, horror, and more horror. The more disturbing, the better. Period.
