As an 80s kid, this was a great throwback to my teenage years. That might have been the most enjoyable part of the movie for me. Not that I didn’t enjoy all of it, but there’s not a whole lot to get worked up about.
I found it to be enjoyable, but I didn’t love it. I suppose it’s because the stakes weren’t that high. We know how the story turns out, so it’s hard to really feel the drama. Sonny is shown to have a gambler’s mentality and he’s been wrong many times. If he had failed it would have been a personal tragedy, but he’s not going to be destitute. This isn’t life and death.

The acting was what you would expect: rock solid. I’m thinking back through the scenes, and I can’t recall a single scene that doesn’t involve Sonny (Matt Damon). If there’s a scene without Sonny it didn’t last long.
All that said, I would certainly recommend this movie to anyone who’s a sports fan that grew up in the 80s.
Also, I wasn’t aware of the historical role that Deloris Jordan played. I don’t know whose idea it was, her’s or Michaels, to insist on a percentage of the sales, but that was the revolutionary part of the story, as the movie points out in the end.
Grade: B
About The Peetimes: This was an easy movie to do Peetimes for because there isn’t much going on except for the main storyline. I don’t have a recommended Peetime because there’s not much difference between them.
There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Air.

Got this back when I was pregnant, but I’ll be keeping it forever, it’s just so handy. I don’t go to the movie theater that often (even back before quarantine when you actually could…) but I make sure the app and the movie list are all current and updated, cause it’s so handy! It’s great for running late cause you can read their

Creator and developer of the RunPee app. When something doesn’t work right in the app it’s pretty much his fault. 🙂
Aspiring author. Would like to finish his “Zombie Revelations” trilogy if he could break away for working on RunPee and the cottage he’s building for RunPee Mom.

To be fair, I have not seen AIR yet. I’m from the Chicagoland, love Chicago sports, and know every bit of the MJ & Nike story. I know there are no surprises in store for me when I do see AIR.
OK, with that out of the way, I took my 87-yr. old dad to see Sweetwater this afternoon. What a pleasant surprise! I have seen zero trailers and even fewer ads for Sweetwater, and that is a shame. “Sweets” is the Jackie Robinson of the NBA and for sports history fans (like me), it is worth the time to see it.
PS. There are extras during the credits of Sweetwater. 🙂

Crap, I’d like to see Sweetwater. It’s not even showing at our “artsy” theater here in town. 🙁
I’ll put it on my “to stream” list. Thanks!

Finally!
Now that I’ve seen Air, I can say with confidence: I loved it! I love sports and even more, sports history. There were a few fun OMG, REALLY? moments. I love MJ’s Bulls and sharing that time with my 5-year old son. I wish there was more Michael, even if it was just the back of his head. I loved the good laughs, mostly at the expense of Ben Affleck’s jogging suit and Matt Damon’s “not friend.” Music plays a huge part for me in movies, and this one excelled.
There were parts toward that were just “Eh” for me, so instead of an A…It’s a B++ for me. 🙂
Highly recommend!-
Awesome. I expected that you would enjoy this. It must be awesome to share this with your 5-year-old. Congratulations. 🙂

To be clear…
I shared those championship years with my then 5-year-old son. I wanted to go back and edit it as soon as I posted! Haha
That grown man is now very excited to see this. He and I don’t agree on everything, but the love for sports+music+history in movies is definitely a shared passion.-
Ah, understood. That’s really awesome. 🙂
