Of Hobbits, Detectives, and Arthur Dent: Martin Freeman Who do you get when you need an ordinary, man next door figure who will end up being thrust into some decidedly extraordinary situations? Someone who can play an exceptionally ordinary man of the people who just happens to be swept up by aliens and ends up being flung across the galaxy. Someone who can be happily at home enjoying a life of domestic tranquility, before being mistaken for a master thief and whisked away on the heist of a lifetime. Who can take roles of such quintessential ordinariness, but still seem like a nice bloke who you would happily spend a convivial hour or two in your local, enjoying a few pints? |

Christmas Classic Rewatch Review – Die Hard 2 (Die Harder) Another excellent non-Christmas Christmas flick that’s also Bruce Willis on his game. Die Hard in an Airport… Except post-911, these shenanigans seem a lot less likely. Grade: A |

Christmas Movie Rewatch – Nativity! The actual way that Nativity! was made is slightly different. There was no script. Whoever was in a particular scene was given a rough outline, the cameras rolled and they improvised away to their heart’s content. A great casting call — including Martin Freeman — adds to the fun. Grade: B- |

Groundhog Day Themed Mouse Movie – Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas A passing star means that, in the grand tradition of Groundhog Day type films not needing to explain everything, there is an unexplained repeat of the previous day, over and over until, well… that would be telling. Grade: C |

Indie Movie Review – Krays: Code Of Silence I could see this only needing a few tweaks to turn it into a very tense and suspenseful theatrical production. Throw lots more money at director Ben Mole and writer Luke Bailey and let’s see what results you get! Grade: B |
