new mutantsThis was a nice welcome back to the theater movie. It was fun and pulled me in very quickly, especially since this isn’t usually my kind of film.

The first thing that comes to mind about The New Mutants was the chemistry. When you have a group of five characters, it’s usually difficult to pull them all together. Usually one or two carry the weight of all but not here. Each one of them were outstanding, I wouldn’t have minded if it were a bit longer so we could have learned more about them individually.

They did an amazing job on the sets, and the big bad things were over the top. I won’t say what they were as to not spoil anything, but once you see it, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

The New Mutants is visually fantastic and I was lucky enough to see it in Dolby. The sound quality of the effects are totally worth the price of the ticket.

If you decide to see it, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Enjoy and stay safe.

Grade: B+

About The Peetimes: I have have two Peetimes to choose from. I highly recommend the first one. Only use the second one if you can’t hold it for another 40 minutes.

There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of The New Mutants. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)

This is a great app. I wish more people would support it

This app provides info about movies, reviews, ratings from people who have seen it before and after viewing. It has links to info about the movies. It let’s you know when there will be a lull in the action and how long it will last. If you want to know what happens during that time, you can check the brief synopsis (you have to click a link, so no accidental spoilers). It has a timer you can set (silent) to alert you to a break. It also tells you whether there is anything extra during or after the credits. It’s really a wonderful app. I’ve subscribed for a couple of years to support the developers, but I noticed some of the links to provide feedback didn’t seem to work today. They also made it free, with voluntary donations to see the pee-times. If you haven’t tried it, I encourage you to do so, and subscribe if you like it. I really hope the app is supported so it can continue to be maintained!

Developers note: RunPee doesn’t make much money but it supports itself nicely. Donations are appreciated, but not required. We’ll add as many movies to the database as we can until there are no more movie theaters.

  1. I just want to know if The New Mutants is scary or creepy. I’m not in the mood for disturbingness. I’d hate to ignore something in the MCU but gotta look out for my mental health.

To me it wasn’t scary but you know how my brain is twisted. I would say it was creepy though. Lots of cool jump scenes with one particular demon. There are quite a few of those types of scenes but a lot of cool superpowers also. It is a bit dark, so I’d probably recommend being in a good state of being of you decide to watch it.

    1. Cool, thanks for the heads up. I’m sure I’ll see it at some time. I just hope this isn’t the new trend in sci-fi and superhero movies. I’m happiest at PG-13.

So it sounds like it’ll be similar psych thriller creepy like Legion tv series? (I’ve seen first season so far, ooh, chills)
