His Only Son is an idea that David Helling has been working on for years. While in Iraq with the Marines, his idea bloomed. Over the next few years, he polished his idea and viola, His Only Son was born. This is the telling of Abraham’s story. His devotion through it all never faltered.
Helling did a great job on an ancient story. His style is what I found most interesting. As the story unfolds you travel back and forth between pivotal moments in his and his family’s life. Both storylines meet up at the end and produce a powerful climax.

This movie isn’t for everyone. It’s a slow-moving story, but it makes sense why he was leading you up to a fantastical moment.
Grade: B
About The Peetimes: I have 2 choices for you, I would most definitely recommend the 1st Peetime. The final Peetime should only be used for emergencies.
There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of His Only Son.
