His Only Son is an idea that David Helling has been working on for years. While in Iraq with the Marines, his idea bloomed. Over the next few years, he polished his idea and viola, His Only Son was born. This is the telling of Abraham’s story. His devotion through it all never faltered.
Helling did a great job on an ancient story. His style is what I found most interesting. As the story unfolds you travel back and forth between pivotal moments in his and his family’s life. Both storylines meet up at the end and produce a powerful climax.
