I don’t think anyone will be surprised by Champions. It’s good, but not great. This isn’t the type of movie that you put a lot of analysis into, but if I had to pick the one thing that it’s missing its drama. It was pretty obvious how the relationships were going to work out. That doesn’t mean it was bad, just predictable. It’s hard to put suspense into a movie where it pretty much has to have a happy ending.
Kudos to the writer Bobby Farrelly. I think the best part of the movie is how the final game was handled. I won’t spoil it for you. I can’t say that I expected that exact ending and in retrospect, it’s the only ending that would be satisfactory.

IMDb pages
Something I’d like to point out that I think is really thoughtful: all of the diversity actors in this movie have really nicely done IMDb.com pages complete with photos and biographies. Champions is the only role for most of the diversity actors. I frequently use IMDb when writing reviews to look up actors and the crew to see their filmography. It’s common for actors with small roles to have IMDb pages without a headshot or a one-sentence bio. Not for these actors. Someone made sure they were well represented on IMDb which will make it easier for them to find more acting roles in the future. Major props to whoever it was that made sure everyone had a top-notch IMDb page.

About The Peetimes: There’s a lot of character development during the story as we get to know a host of characters. That made finding Peetimes a challenge. I found 3 Peetimes and I think the 2nd and 3rd are pretty good. The 1st Peetime isn’t bad if you have to go early in the movie.

RunPee is one of my favourite apps. No more googling a film before you see it and risking spoilers, this app has everything you need to know, not just the best time to go to the toilet. Dan, the developer, also offers an amazing customer service experience. I recently switched phones, and Dan was very generous in sorting things out with me as I moved over to my current system. If you’re an avid film watcher, this is the app for you!
