I’ve never seen the Bob’s Burgers TV show. So going into this movie I had no point of reference. But it also means I had no expectations. It is a potential problem most TV related movies can have. Can we capture that elusive new audience? Maybe but they’re going to have to do some things right. It’s going to have to be entertaining/funny (if it’s a comedy) without too many inside references or jokes. We all know they’re going to be there. The point is, the general viewing audience needs to be able to pick up on them or just move past them not knowing the reference.
So how do I think they did? The quickest possible answer, it was okay. I was entertained but was expecting a little bit more laughter. There were a few in the audience that obviously knew some of the inside jokes. But even still, I would have expected more laughter for a comedy. I’m not saying there wasn’t anything funny, there were definitely cute and humorous moments. What I mean when I say “more laughter” I mean laugh out loud laughter. Not minor giggles.

As I said, I was entertained. I wasn’t blown away by any means. Had a good time. Might sound a bit like a broken record, but I enjoyed it for what it was.
Nobody in my friend group was a Bob’s Burgers fan either. So it’s never been on the list to check out. Will I go check out the show? Probably will give it a few episodes. So in that aspect, the movie succeeded.
So overall it was passable. Not a complete waste of time. I might have a new show to watch. And if I binge all the seasons maybe I’ll get more out of the movie a second time.
But that… is another story.
Tell a friend to see it?
Maybe, depends on the friend.
Would I rewatch it?
Maybe if I watch the show first.

Single best investment
By and far best investment Ive made. I used to drive my husband nuts because Id be a fidgeting mess the last half hour of the movie trying not to miss important parts. Now I just turn this app on and *bam* I can actually focus on the movie the whole time. Even puts alerts to my watch so even better. Also I can guarentee all the 5 reviews arent fake as one person accused – its just that so many of us movie-goers had the same problem and this fixed it. Yes, it is paid but jeeze its expensive to keep watching movies and updating an app for every movie. And if you read more about the creator he mentions he has several people contributing – so yeah its paid but omg worth every cent. 10/10

Not at the moment.
Must-see in theaters?
Not needed.
Do you need to see the original show to enjoy this one?
I am sure you would get more out of it if you did. But I don’t think you do, if you can enjoy it for what it is.
Grade: C
About The Peetimes: This was a surprisingly difficult movie to find Peetimes for. The entire second half of the movie moves along at a fast clip of important scenes. I think the 2nd Peetime is the best, if you can wait for that one. And it should get you through the rest of the movie. A few scenes were good for Peetimes but too short to use. I hope these two will be sufficient.
There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of The Bob’s Burgers Movie.
