Read Time:4 Minute, 6 Second

George Clooney

There is no denying that the film industry has produced some of the most famous figures of our generation such as George Clooney. In fact, George Clooney is one of the most recognisable actors in the world for his outstanding performances in a variety of different movie genres. Although George Clooney is famous for his acting in many television programmes such as ER, he has also acted in many films as well. In this context, it is worth exploring the various film projects that George Clooney has acted in to see which ones are considered his best work.

Firstly, despite the fact that George Clooney has acted in several films in the 1980s and 1990s, his relatively recent role in ‘Gravity’ released in 2013 has re-cemented his status as one of the most well-known actors of all time. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, Gravity is an eerie, tense sci-fi thriller that’s masterfully directed and visually stunning. Starring alongside Academy Award nominees such as Sandra Bullock, Clooney’s performance as astronaut Matt Kowalski brings a sense of calm to our screens. Gravity was also one of the most successful sci-fi films of all time, resulting in a huge turnaround for the careers of both Sandra Bullock and George Clooney’s careers. The film would become the eighth highest-grossing film of 2013 with a worldwide gross of more than $723 million.

Must have app if you love the movies

If you’re like me and enjoy a 92oz soda as part of the movie experience, you’ll be thankful for this app telling you the best times to go for a quick break. Whether that’s to refill your soda or recycle it.

Possibly an even better feature is the info on if the movie has after credits scenes. There’s nothing worse than sitting there reading about who the key grip was, then finding out that’s all you did. I blame Marvel for the stupid trend.

Seriously, I see a dozen movies a month and use this app every single time. Worth every Penny of the infinity coin thing I bought.

Of course, while it might be easy to remember George Clooney’s recent roles more vividly, it is important to remember how he built up his acting career in the earlier years. Although his role in ‘ER’ was one that made him incredibly well known in acting circles, his role in ‘Out of Sight’ in 1998 is regarded as one of his best performances to date. Not only would his character in this film pave the way for the first of several collaborations between Soderbergh and actor George Clooney, but it was one of the first demonstrations of his acting capabilities. Having been adapted from the Elmore Leonard novel, Clooney acts as a man named Jack Foley who is a bank robber. With an amazing cast including Jennifer Lopez, the film is praised for its romantic undercurrents and exciting storyline. George Clooney’s outstanding performance in this series is just one of the reasons why the film was able to gross USD 12 million on its opening weekend and accumulate a worldwide total of $77.7 million.

Overall, it is certain that George Clooney is one of the most globally renowned and respected actors of our generation. From acting in blockbuster films such as ‘Gravity’ to occupying a main voice acting role in the animated film ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, Clooney has truly cemented himself as one of the most talented and versatile actors of all time. As George Clooney currently has plans to appear in more films in the future, it should be interesting to see what new roles he will act in.
