George Clooney’s best Film Projects of All Time

Read Time:4 Minute, 6 Second

George Clooney

There is no denying that the film industry has produced some of the most famous figures of our generation such as George Clooney. In fact, George Clooney is one of the most recognisable actors in the world for his outstanding performances in a variety of different movie genres. Although George Clooney is famous for his acting in many television programmes such as ER, he has also acted in many films as well. In this context, it is worth exploring the various film projects that George Clooney has acted in to see which ones are considered his best work.

Firstly, despite the fact that George Clooney has acted in several films in the 1980s and 1990s, his relatively recent role in ‘Gravity’ released in 2013 has re-cemented his status as one of the most well-known actors of all time. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, Gravity is an eerie, tense sci-fi thriller that’s masterfully directed and visually stunning. Starring alongside Academy Award nominees such as Sandra Bullock, Clooney’s performance as astronaut Matt Kowalski brings a sense of calm to our screens. Gravity was also one of the most successful sci-fi films of all time, resulting in a huge turnaround for the careers of both Sandra Bullock and George Clooney’s careers. The film would become the eighth highest-grossing film of 2013 with a worldwide gross of more than $723 million.

Movie Watching Must Have!!

I go feral for this app. I love it so much and I wish everyone knew about it and used it. It is incredibly useful and I would be devastated if this app ever disappeared. Things I love: 1) the pee times! It’s so handy to know the best time to go and then read the synopsis of what’s happening while I’m gone. I never have to worry about missing the good bits! 2) knowing if there is a post-credits scene or not. This might be my fav feature because I would have missed out on some pretty critical scenes if it weren’t for RunPee. 3) the movie review and viewer rankings. This info has made me watch some movies that I normally wouldn’t and it’s nice seeing things outside of my usual scope. 4) that it’s a small family run business. I love shopping small and it really does feel like I’m part of the RunPee family! If you reach out to them, Dan will personally respond to you and he is so warm and helpful. GET THIS APP AND THEN SUBSCRIBE! It is absolutely worth it and you’ll be using it again and again!

Furthermore, the Ocean’s 11, 12 and 13 films are a franchise that has catapulted George Clooney to new levels of fame with his role as Danny Ocean. The theme of these movies centralise on George Clooney’s character who is a gangster on a mission to steal money from three popular casinos in Las Vegas owned by his rival, Terry Benedict. With an intriguing storyline revolving around the gambling scene, viewers can recreate the experience of George Clooney’s leading character by trying out the poker no deposit bonus. This series was also a box office hit with Ocean’s 11 alone grossing $450.7 million worldwide in 2001 and becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of that year. What also made this series so popular was the line up of famous faces along with George Clooney such as Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts comprising the cast.

Moreover, in 2009 George Clooney proved that his acting capabilities transcend well beyond the realms of conventional films as he stepped into Wes Anderson’s weird, wonderful universe as the crafty Mr. Fox. Occupying the main role, Clooney’s intricate understanding of voice acting was conveyed on our screens as he was able to subtly transcend the craftiness of the main character without physically appearing himself on the screen. The film takes closely follows the famous children’s book by Roald Dahl as Clooney’s character embarks on a journey after 12 years to go against his human enemies Boggis, Bunce and Bean. With themes of family, pride, parenthood, survival and loyalty woven into the story, the viewer is encouraged to see Clooney’s struggle as the protagonist as he tries to fight to provide for his family. Fantastic Mr. Fox was also rendered a box office success as it grossed $21,002,919 in the U.S., and $25,468,104 outside the U.S., making a total of $46,471,023 worldwide.

Of course, while it might be easy to remember George Clooney’s recent roles more vividly, it is important to remember how he built up his acting career in the earlier years. Although his role in ‘ER’ was one that made him incredibly well known in acting circles, his role in ‘Out of Sight’ in 1998 is regarded as one of his best performances to date. Not only would his character in this film pave the way for the first of several collaborations between Soderbergh and actor George Clooney, but it was one of the first demonstrations of his acting capabilities. Having been adapted from the Elmore Leonard novel, Clooney acts as a man named Jack Foley who is a bank robber. With an amazing cast including Jennifer Lopez, the film is praised for its romantic undercurrents and exciting storyline. George Clooney’s outstanding performance in this series is just one of the reasons why the film was able to gross USD 12 million on its opening weekend and accumulate a worldwide total of $77.7 million.

Overall, it is certain that George Clooney is one of the most globally renowned and respected actors of our generation. From acting in blockbuster films such as ‘Gravity’ to occupying a main voice acting role in the animated film ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, Clooney has truly cemented himself as one of the most talented and versatile actors of all time. As George Clooney currently has plans to appear in more films in the future, it should be interesting to see what new roles he will act in.
