We may not have the blockbusters we expected this Fall, but there’s still great entertainment to cheer us up during the world’s hiatus. Broken Hearts Gallery is one of those things, and well worth getting out of the house to see. If you’re in the mood to relax, laugh, and enjoy a romantic comedy, this little film will deliver. You’ll feel good walking out of the theater: not because it’s over, but because it will recharge your laugh battery and make you smile again.

New movies this week

New Movies this week!
It sometimes felt that this day would never come, but the movie theaters are allowed to open here in North Carolina. I’m going to see *Honest Thief* — starring Liam Neeson — at the first showing on Friday afternoon. We’ll have the Peetimes posted by noon on Saturday.

Indie Movie Review -- Sinbad: the Fifth Voyage (Ultimate Director's Cut)

Indie Movie Review — Sinbad: the Fifth Voyage (Ultimate Director’s Cut)
With Sir Patrick Stewart’s narration and loving nods to the late, great Ray Harryhausen, this modern ‘throwback’ fantasy adventure is a ton of fun. Add in a perfectly cast Sinbad — and swashbucklings galore — and you’re in for an hour and a half of nostalgic thrills.

Indie Movie Review -- Fugue

Indie Movie Review — Fugue
Fugue is a time twisting mind-bender that feels like a Christopher Nolan film. There are clues to follow that all make sense when it comes together, and you might want to watch this one twice. We did. Here’s a review that won’t spoil the fun.

RunPee is one of my favourite apps. No more googling a film before you see it and risking spoilers, this app has everything you need to know, not just the best time to go to the toilet. Dan, the developer, also offers an amazing customer service experience. I recently switched phones, and Dan was very generous in sorting things out with me as I moved over to my current system. If you’re an avid film watcher, this is the app for you!

Indie Movie Review -- Pulse

Indie Movie Review — Pulse
Part of the pleasure of being given the opportunity to watch and review independent films for RunPee is finding films like Pulse. The cast is excellent — but the stand out is Daniel Monks. Who better to play a disabled, gay young man than a disabled, gay young man?

The unique blend of sci-fi, medical drama, and comedy make this worth streaming.

Indie Movie Review -- The Devil to Pay

Indie Movie Review — The Devil to Pay
Set and shot in Appalachia, with isolated families, unusual communities bordering on cults, a desperate mother fighting against insurmountable odds… but no axe-wielding maniac with an excess of recessive genes, or a mask made out of someone else’s arse.

So how is it resolved? Quite simply it is resolved skillfully, believably, and with flair. Recommended.

Weekly progress diary on RunPee:NX
We are rebuilding the RunPee app from scratch using Google Flutter. Here’s a brief report on our weekly progress:

Beta testing has begun!

Many of you have volunteered to beta test the RunPee rebuild. I’ll be contacting you in groups. There’s no point in having everyone beta test the same problems.

If you have an Android phone and would like to beta test, then just reply to this email/post and I’ll add you to the list.

How do the movies in Star Wars stand up to the Bechdel test?

Don’t miss your favorite movie moments because you have to pee or need a snack. Use the RunPee app (Androidor iPhone) when you go to the movies. We have Peetimes for all wide release films every week, including Moana 2, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, Kraven the Hunter, Wicked, Gladiator II and coming soon Mufasa: The Lion King, Nosferatu, A Complete Unknown and many others. We have literally thousands of Peetimes—from classic movies through today’s blockbusters. You can also keep up with movie news and reviews on our blog, or by following us on Twitter @RunPee. If there’s a new film out there, we’ve got your bladder covered.

  1. What a great batch of movies this week! All are between A+ and B+. This must be some kind of weekly record.
