M3gan was fun for the whole family. We had four generations of family front and center opening night and we all loved it. It was everything we had hoped for. Based on the trailers it looked like Chucky meets Terminator and it exactly was. Was it campy? Yes, it was. Was it predictable? Yes, it was. Did it entertain us throughout the entire runtime? It certainly did.

I especially liked the interaction between M3gan (Amie Donald) and Cady (Violet McGraw). M3gan’s face was beautiful but really creepy at the same time. I felt they did a great job on her design and makeup. In today’s technology, I thought she was CG. It wasn’t until the movie was over that I looked at IMDB and saw that it was a little girl. I’m ashamed to admit that but in my defense, darn I’ve been sitting here for ten minutes trying to come up with a defense, and I’ve got none. They got me.

Over dinner we all had fun coming up with matchups for M3gan. RunPee Mom says M3gan and Chucky would do well together. My husband’s answer was to sing, “M3gan and Chucky sitting in a tree K I L L I N G.” That got a good laugh around the table.

It was fun and we had a great time. That’s movie magic. They brought our family together and provided entertainment for us all. Those moments are priceless.

My bladder thanks you so much!! App works great for telling u when and for how long you have a pee break! I didn’t use the timer function so the dialog in the movie was a great clue as to when to go. I also liked the info about each movie to know whether there was any extra scenes during or after the credits. Nothing worse than waiting for all the credits and then no extra scene.

I thought the same thing, M3gan was beautiful and creepy and I felt creepy for thinking a little girl was beautiful after I too learned it was a real girl. But I think this movie is more of a “Thriller” then a “Horror” movie for a few reasons, it was PG-13 horror movies are usually rated R, there pretty much was no blood, and the kill count was very low. But did I like it, yes, I did read recently that the director did film more killing, but the studio saw that teens were talking about the trailer so they re-edited it so they could see it, but the director says he see’s a NR version coming out soon

    1. Interesting. That’s pretty smart to release a NR-rated version of this to streaming. That will make a dime for a few people. I thought the movie was okay. It wasn’t as good as I expected, but that’s probably because I heard from numerous people that it was great before I saw it so my expectations were pretty high.

One thing that bothered me was M3gan killing the CEO of the company and then his lackey. I didn’t see any purpose in that. Neither of them was a threat to her. Or did I miss something?

I would have preferred a more cerebral ending to the movie where Emmily told M3gan that it was her/M3gan that was causing her pain and thus if M3gan were to follow her programming then she would have to destroy herself. That would have worked better for me, but I can see that the general audience would probably prefer a more violent ending. I think that’s a bigger problem with movies, especially American movies, that the ending comes down to violence instead of intelligence.
