Till absolutely blew me away. This is a powerful movie that doesn’t stop. Our main character Mamie, (Danielle Deadwyler) was fantastic. Her performance was riveting, heartbreaking, and courageous. The way she told her story and the way she portrayed epic emotions deserves an award. Really, if she doesn’t earn something for this movie I’ll know for sure that the awards are rigged. She ripped my heart out and had me feeling her pain so well that I was crying like a baby. Sitting here thinking back on it, it still takes my breath away.
This story absolutely deserves the big screen, I’m ashamed of the America that would allow such inhumane and barbaric behavior. It makes me angry to see how things truly were and how unfair life is for so many. Prepare yourself to feel emotions, a bunch of emotions.
