The Pope’s Exorcist surprised the hell out of me, which in fact is exactly where Father Amorth (Russell Crowe) was trying to avoid going. The question of the day is did he conquer the demon or did he choke under pressure and lose his soul to the Devil?
After fourteen years of watching practically all of the horror movies that Hollywood gives us, I’ve become jaded. Honestly, almost fifty years of watching due to my love of everything strange and eerie. They seem to all follow the same pattern with their typical outcomes that are so easily deduced within the first twenty minutes. The Pope’s Exorcist avoided all the clichรฉ moments and dug deep down to show us how it’s supposed to be done.

Russell Crowe was outstanding. His actions, humor, seriousness, and pure faith were downright amazing. This was a serious movie but it felt like he was having fun with it. It’s always refreshing to see and sense that in a movie.
I also want to mention the effects. They did a spectacular job too. The way that they transformed Henry (Peter DeSouza-Feghoney) was spooky, creepy, and perfect. He gave me the chills a few times.
All in all, I loved this movie. This might be a tiny spoiler but I’m excited to see if they make a sequel. They set it up perfectly to have an astonishing 199 hellish returns. You’ll understand later.

RunPee is an excellent app that has all the info you need when going to the movies. Whenever I go to a movie, I open up the app and know when the best time to dip to the bathroom is. They have pee times for movies just a few hours after their release and it shows the dedication the team has for the service. Definitely recommend for any movie-goer.

RunPee.com owes RunPee Sis a huge debt of gratitude. She sees any movie needed with no complaints and has done so for ten years (even basing Thanksgiving and Christmas family festivities around the seeing films). In 2015 Sis ran the entire RunPee enterprise herself, while RunPee Dan, Jilly and Mom went traipsing off to Europe. Sis is the spider in the web holding the RunPee family together — besides being a funny, well rounded person, and a joyous pleasure to be around. Her favorite films start and end with horror (which thank goodness she’s happy to see, since most of us don’t have the stomach for it) — but also likes silly comedies, sad dramas, and musicals of all types. If you’ve used a Peetime for a scary film, you probably have RunPee Sis to thank for it.
Favorite movie genre: Horror, horror, and more horror. The more disturbing, the better. Period.
