The Conjuring Last Rites_hero

The Conjuring: Last Rites was awesome! I can’t get enough of Vera Farmiga as Lorraine Warren. She has brought such passion and intensity to this universe that it leaves me speechless.

What strikes me most is how Farmiga and Wilson have grown into these roles over the years. They’re not just acting as the Warrens anymore – they’ve become them. There’s a lived-in quality to their relationship that only comes from years of working together, and it shows in every glance and gesture.

Patrick Wilson has done a great job, too – his portrayal of Ed Warren remains spot on. While this marks the Warrens’ final ghost-hunting adventure, the franchise will continue without them, and honestly, that feels bittersweet.

The filmmakers were able to weave previous storylines into this film, and it was just enough to make us happy without feeling like fan service. They didn’t rely too heavily on past entities – that was pure filming genius. Instead, they focused on giving these beloved characters the send-off they deserved. The film’s technical execution deserves praise, particularly the sound design that builds tension without relying solely on loud jolts. The cinematography maintains the series’ signature atmospheric dread, and the practical effects feel grounded in reality rather than over-the-top CGI spectacle.

There were quite a few jump-out-of-your-seat moments, and I definitely didn’t leave unhappy. They tied everything up nicely, providing closure while respecting the legacy of these characters.

If this film leaves you wanting more supernatural investigations, consider checking out The Enfield Poltergeist on Apple TV+ or revisiting the earlier Conjuring films. For those new to the franchise, start with the original The Conjuring to fully appreciate this emotional conclusion. If you’re a fan of this franchise, go see it – you won’t be disappointed.

Grade: A-

About The Peetimes: There are 2 great Peetimes for you to use. I wouldn’t recommend leaving the theater after the last Peetime.

There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of The Conjuring: Last Rites.

Love love love this app. And, after receiving an email from Dan (the creator) that read as though it was a one-on-one communication sent only to me, I felt compelled to leave a long-overdue review. My son and I are absolutely addicted to this app…especially since I discovered it at the onset of the Marvel craze. Now we use it to confirm if there is a scene following the credits. Often times, we are the ONLY ones there watching the bonus scene…and it cracks us up. LOL! Thanks, RunPee!
