Fans of Jane Austen are going to enjoy this latest big screen production of her novel, Emma. Even though Ms. Austin’s writing provides for a fun two hours of witty dialog, it’s the magnificent visual impact of the English countryside with its equally magnificent manors that takes Emma. from a B rating to an A.

The production value of Emma. is off the charts amazing. The costume department did a wonderful job capturing the elegance of the age, and the set design was stunning.

The on-screen chemistry between Anya Taylor-Joy and Mia Goth was, simply put, the icing on this little cupcake of a movie.

This is a nice escape film that lets your mind wander to a better place, a better time.

Grade: A

About The Peetimes: The pacing was perfect for getting 3 good Peetimes during this beautiful 2 hour movie.

There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Emma.. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)

    I love the look of the Regency clothes! If I had to pick a period of time to base my wardrobe on that would be it.

    The other high spot for me was Bill Nighy; I think he’s fantastic and want to be him when I grow up.
