What a hayride of a movie! Clown in a Cornfield is a must-see for anyone who appreciates Children of the Corn (obvious reference due to the cornfields) or Terrifier (total clown reference there). This is not just another horror movie—there’s a semi-campy feel to it, but more importantly, it’s unique for some very cool reasons. Let’s dive into that.
What makes Clown in a Cornfield stand out in the crowded horror landscape is how it blends nostalgic slasher elements with contemporary styles. While many modern horror films try too hard to be “elevated,” this movie embraces its B-movie roots while still delivering genuine scares and surprising depth. It’s like someone took the best parts of 80s horror, added modern filmmaking techniques, and created something that feels both familiar and fresh.

One aspect in particular that I want to talk about is the casting. These young actors were phenomenal. Finally, there was a cast of teenagers who weren’t your typical “let’s get drunk and have sex in a cornfield” kids. Usually within the first 15 minutes of a slasher film, I’m rooting for the killer to take out the stuck-up, entitled rich girl or the jock that thinks he’s God’s gift to the planet. I mean, yeah, one guy tried, but he died quickly, so I don’t count that one. He wasn’t a main character anyway. No, this group actually had goals in mind and smarts to carry out a plan to save the town.
Another aspect that I liked is that they addressed homosexuality. I don’t want to spoil anything here, but I can say that they did it in a very smooth way. Again, they took a current issue and brought it to the screen in a very slick way. It wasn’t awkward or contrived, it was real. I thought that was another great feature.
The director uses the cornfield setting brilliantly, turning what could have been a generic backdrop into something truly menacing. There’s something inherently unsettling about being surrounded by tall cornstalks that block your view in every direction. The sound design amplifies this claustrophobia—the subtle rustling leaves had me constantly on edge, never quite sure which direction the next scare would come from.
You get blood and guts and killer clowns and laughs throughout—what more could a horror fan want? I got home last night, still smiling because I enjoyed it so much. But not everyone shared my enthusiasm…
As I was getting ready to go to sleep, I got a text message from RunPee Dan asking how I enjoyed the movie. I texted back right away that I loved it. Then, RunPee Dan texted me a screenshot of a comment that a fan wrote specifically to me. This fan HATED it. He begged me to give it an F and was shocked that the movie was even made.
Now, I respect the heck out of our fans, but I’m gonna have to disagree with him and give this movie a B+. That’s actually higher than it might seem—it’s a B movie that scored an A+ with me. This whole conversation with my brother (RunPee Dan) and the disgruntled fan gave my big brother an idea. He wants me and the negative Nelly to do a podcast and duke it out. What do you guys think, should we?

This is a great app. I wish more people would support it
This app provides info about movies, reviews, ratings from people who have seen it before and after viewing. It has links to info about the movies. It let’s you know when there will be a lull in the action and how long it will last. If you want to know what happens during that time, you can check the brief synopsis (you have to click a link, so no accidental spoilers). It has a timer you can set (silent) to alert you to a break. It also tells you whether there is anything extra during or after the credits. It’s really a wonderful app. I’ve subscribed for a couple of years to support the developers, but I noticed some of the links to provide feedback didn’t seem to work today. They also made it free, with voluntary donations to see the pee-times. If you haven’t tried it, I encourage you to do so, and subscribe if you like it. I really hope the app is supported so it can continue to be maintained!
Developers note: RunPee doesn’t make much money but it supports itself nicely. Donations are appreciated, but not required. We’ll add as many movies to the database as we can until there are no more movie theaters.

I hope you will go see this refreshing slasher movie and enjoy it the way I did. Throw me some comments because now I’m starting to wonder if I’m just going senile and the fan was right. I hate doubting myself. I need more feedback!

About The Peetimes: I put in 2 Peetimes. The 1st one will work pergect for you but the 2nd Peetime is only for an emergency. I hate including kill scenes but this was a difficult movie to do that with.
