The Riviera – “Casino” (1995)

Martin Scorsese’s “Casino” is an undisputed classic in the movie genre and found its ideal setting at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The Riviera, with its vintage charm and old-school Vegas vibe, offered the perfect stage for this gritty and mesmerising tale of mob-controlled casinos. The film, featuring powerhouse performances from Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone, delved into the world of casino operators and their turbulent relationships. The Riviera’s neon lights and classic Vegas atmosphere transported viewers back to the 1970s, adding authenticity to Scorsese’s crime drama.

The Golden Nugget -–”Diamonds Are Forever” (1971)

James Bond films are known for their opulent and exotic locations. “Diamonds Are Forever” is no exception. The Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas took on a prominent role in this classic Bond movie. Sean Connery’s Bond embarks on a mission to thwart a diamond smuggling operation, leading him to the world of luxurious Las Vegas casinos. The Golden Nugget’s lavish interiors and glittering gaming floors set the stage for Bond’s high-stakes encounters with nefarious adversaries. The film’s iconic scenes, including a memorable car chase through the casino, have etched the Golden Nugget into cinematic lore.

Conclusion

These three casinos share a common trait: they have added a touch of glamour and thrill to the world of film. They have not just entertained millions in the real world but have also left an enduring legacy on the silver screen, where reality seamlessly melds with reel.

Got this back when I was pregnant, but I’ll be keeping it forever, it’s just so handy. I don’t go to the movie theater that often (even back before quarantine when you actually could…) but I make sure the app and the movie list are all current and updated, cause it’s so handy! It’s great for running late cause you can read their summary, obviously awesome for bathroom or snack breaks mid movie, and I also love that it tells you if there’s anything after the credits which is very handy.
