Movie Review – The Bob’s Burgers Movie

Bobs_Bugers_The_Movie

I’ll be honest, I had never heard of Bob’s Burgers before seeing the trailer a few months ago. I guess it’s a TV series on some network. I totally missed it. I looked up the rating on RottenTomatoes and it has a 98% so far from the audience. It looks like the fans of the TV show are totally satisfied.

I really didn’t find the movie to be funny. It was amusing from time to time, but not funny to me.

I like the realism of the characters, both the adults and children. And showing how each of them has complex emotional needs. That is fairly rare. In any movie, regardless of genre, it’s usually only one or two characters that are complex enough to know what their needs are.

The ending was satisfying to see how each character’s arc is resolved.

I’m still not particularly interested in watching the TV show. But if they could make a movie out of this then can we have a Bo Jack Horseman movie, please?

Grade: B

About The Peetimes: This was a surprisingly difficult movie to find Peetimes for. The entire second half of the movie moves along at a fast clip of important scenes. I think the 2nd Peetime is the best, if you can wait for that one. And it should get you through the rest of the movie. A few scenes were good for Peetimes but too short to use. I hope these two will be sufficient.

There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of The Bob’s Burgers Movie.

As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong.

I’ve loved this app for years and use it at the theater and home. Super easy to use and so helpful to know when it’s a good time to run for the restroom. I notify my kids when it’s close to time, so I don’t end up running them to the restroom multiple times. (Updated review from 4 to 5 . I’d had an issue with the app while at the theater and it was quickly resolved with FANTASTIC customer service. Thanks, RunPee!)

  1. Your review doesn’t seem to match your letter grade. Seems like it should be a C at best, if it doesn’t even make you curious about the show.

  2. @Troy I’m being generous with my grade because really, who cares what I think? I didn’t even know about this show until a month ago. Fans seem to like it, and I didn’t have a problem with it, so a “B” is basically my compromise grade.

Out really is a great show, with characters that are just the right blends of realistically neurotic and just trying for a chance to chase their dreams, coming together as a family that supports each other well in the end.

I’d say it has broad age demographic since it can be particularly nostalgic humor referencing 80s or later. I almost didn’t give it a chance from the art style in the beginning, but then consider the Simpsons, and this guy way better much faster, every episode is a winner.

Not having seen the movie yet, from the plot description, it seems like something they might normally do as a 2 part episode, but without ad breaks and as 3 part instead.

  4. Oh also, I wouldn’t expect a movie from a long running sitcom series (sorta like The Simpsons) to get people interested in seeing the TV series, so much as being a treat for the fans ‍♂️
