Back to Black left me speechless. Marisa Abela nailed that role. I kept forgetting that I wasn’t actually watching Amy Winehouse. She perfected Amy’s mannerisms and voice. It was an absolute delight watching her take control.
I’ve been a fan of Amy Winehouse from the very beginning, she had the most beautiful way of singing. It was like her soul took over on every song she sang. Marisa Abela was able to accomplish that in an elegant way that took the movie to a whole other level.

Her life is heartbreaking. Most of her problems were widely shown through the tabloids and papers, but I learned a few things in Back to Black that I hadn’t known. So if you’re an Amy Winehouse fan I highly recommend it.
