afrAId

AfrAId was slightly disappointing. The story was solid and it posed a bunch of really good questions regarding artificial intelligence.

The part that has me in turmoil over the grade was the role of Meredith. (Katherine Waterston) I would love some feedback on what you Runpeeps think. She felt out of place to me. She had no chemistry with any of the other actors and seemed distracted.

It’s a super short movie so the pace is great, they didn’t stick in any filler stuff, it was straight storytelling.

I took my granddaughter and asked her what grade she’d give it, she said an A. It scared her and made her question the usage of AI. She doesn’t care about acting and style, she’s all about the story. So they nailed it for her. (She’s 11) I was more so thinking a C. If it weren’t for the distraction of Meredith I’d say a B.

All in all, I think anyone under 17 will love it and anyone over 17 will be slightly more critical. Again, it does pose great questions and makes you think.

Grade: C+

About The Peetimes: After seeing this movie it became clear the Peetime I submitted was the only safe time to go. The actual movie is only 76 minutes long, luckily my Peetime is about half way through it.

There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of AfrAId.

Water drinkers unite

Run pee is the best app for people who find themselves needing to pee a lot but also not wanting to miss any action. The app gives you the best times to use the bathroom during a movie while also telling you when to leave and which lines to listen for! It not only gives you the time you should go pee, but it also explains to you what is happening during the break. I helped I use this app every time I go to the movies now. My god father recommended this app to 5 years ago and it’s been in my phone ever since! Highly recommended.

Yep the actress playing Meredith was way off. Completely lifeless with zero chemistry. Just standing around saying her lines. The script should have been so much better especially with this timely topic. Ending up being meh with a terrible ending

  2. I saw this today. I kind of disagree. I really liked Meredith in the movie. She did not seem disconnected to me. I would give the movie a B minus it was entertaining. But if you saw the previews, you’re pretty much saw the movie. Not much there, but I was entertained. When you pay less in the matinee, it makes it easier.

I thought Waterson did have a quick turnaround on Aia. She went from being suspect to embracing it and then, almost instantly, back to suspect. I thought Cho’s character most poignant because he seemed to see the future from the start.
