But back to Chamber, it’s still a light and fun ride which successfully builds upon the foundation of its predecessor, deepening the magical world and introducing a darker, more suspenseful tone which gets built on over the course of the remaining films. Amongst the creatures introduced are Dobby the house elf, Aragog the acromantula, the Whomping Willow, a Basilisk, and a flying car. New people introduced include Professor Sprout (Herbology), Gilderoy Lockhart (Defence Against The Dark Arts), Madam Pomfrey (School Nurse), Tom Marvolo Riddle (Laboured anagram…I would have gone with Trevor Dolldom), Argus Filch (School Caretaker), and Colin Creevey (First Year Student).
As well as the new people and creatures, Harry Potter And The Chamber of Secrets excels at visually expanding the world of Hogwarts. The hidden chambers, the sprawling castle, and the intricate magical details are all brought to life with impressive visual effects, not to mention the cutting edge CGI that was used to render the Basilisk and Dobby.

Besides the story elements, the core trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint continue to develop their characters, showcasing more mature and confident performances. Their on-screen chemistry is a testament to the skills of the casting department; they evolved from the wide-eyed innocence of Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone to the mature intensity of “Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2,” as naturally as growing up.
I think this is my least favourite HP movie (not including the Fantastic Beasts films), but it’s really held up well. Besides the spiders, it’s actually really fun. It’s a bit low stakes compared to the other movies, which is fine. It’s a great introduction to a young Voldemort and another Dark Arts teacher, such as he is. Gilderoy Lockhart is very amusing.

Water drinkers unite
Run pee is the best app for people who find themselves needing to pee a lot but also not wanting to miss any action. The app gives you the best times to use the bathroom during a movie while also telling you when to leave and which lines to listen for! It not only gives you the time you should go pee, but it also explains to you what is happening during the break. I helped I use this app every time I go to the movies now. My god father recommended this app to 5 years ago and it’s been in my phone ever since! Highly recommended.

Co-Creator of RunPee, Chief of Operations, Content Director, and Managing Editor. RunPee Jilly likes galaxy-spanning sci fi, superhero sagas, fantasy films, YA dystopians, action thrillers, chick flicks, and zany comedies, in that order…and possesses an inspiringly small bladder. In fact, that little bladder sparked the creation of RunPee. (Good thing she’s learned to hold it.)

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is such a magical adventure, and I love how you highlighted the key moments. It’s always fun to revisit the story and catch things you might have missed the first time around.
