A Brief Preview Review of The Kid Who Would Be King (No Spoilers)
A kid, a king, and a legendary sword.
This movie has all the necessary ingredients to make it a success with kids and adults alike. It is exciting, funny, and has an entertaining storyline. It has several great morals, including the importance of loyalty and committing/following through with tasks. Old friendships are built upon, and unlikely new friendships are formed.
The acting is convincing, and whilst on the surface some of the casting appears unusual,
The cinematography is wonderful, with some amazing skills used to create the spectacular appearance of fiery horses and warriors. (On that subject, those said horses and warriors could be quite frightening for young children, as they are nearly full-screen at times.)
Overall, this was a pleasing movie experience for all of us. My ten-year-old son, particularly, thought it was ‘GREAT!!!’
Movie Grade: B
