Over the past 8 months we have been working hard to completely rebuild the RunPee app using a new framework (Flutter). The app is much faster than the previous version and best of all, it looks amazing. Everyone who’s tested it has had nothing but compliments on the new design. In fact, when I have to go back and look at the current (old) app I think to myself, “How did users put up with this?”
Note: we are currently only testing on Android. We’ll begin testing on iOS very soon.
Steps to join us in testing the new RunPee app:
- Open your current version of the RunPee app on your phone and make sure you have version 5.5.5 (Find the version number by tapping on the menu at the top-right and scrolling to the bottom of the list.)
- If you do not have v5.5.5 then go to Google Play to update. This is important: you’ll need to update the app and start it, then close the app and restart it again. This will store your user ID in a text file that the new RunPee app can read. Without that the Beta version of the app won’t be able to sign you in automatically.
- Now that you have v5.5.5 you can join the Android Beta Test Group.
- Now you can update the RunPee app to v6.0+
What to expect
When the new app starts you’ll see a series of intro screens. When you finish those the app will attempt to download all of your user data from the server. You should be signed in, with all your Peecoins, or Infinity Peecoin, just as you were before.
If you are not automatically signed in then please sign in manually using your email address. Also, if the auto sign-in doesn’t work for you then it would be a big help to me in figuring out why if you could upload your log files. To do that tap on the menu at the top-right of the Movie List Screen, scroll to the bottom and tap on About RunPee App. That will display an Alert popup with information about the app and a link to SEND LOGS. That’s all you need to do.
Either way, I would love to hear from you if the app was successful in auto signing you in or not. I’ve worked super hard to make it as reliable as I can, but nothing is foolproof.
Feel free to poke around in the app a bit and see what’s changed. Things may look different but the navigation is still pretty much the same as always.
What people are saying about the RunPee app.
Movie Watching Must Have!!
I go feral for this app. I love it so much and I wish everyone knew about it and used it. It is incredibly useful and I would be devastated if this app ever disappeared. Things I love: 1) the pee times! It’s so handy to know the best time to go and then read the synopsis of what’s happening while I’m gone. I never have to worry about missing the good bits! 2) knowing if there is a post-credits scene or not. This might be my fav feature because I would have missed out on some pretty critical scenes if it weren’t for RunPee. 3) the movie review and viewer rankings. This info has made me watch some movies that I normally wouldn’t and it’s nice seeing things outside of my usual scope. 4) that it’s a small family run business. I love shopping small and it really does feel like I’m part of the RunPee family! If you reach out to them, Dan will personally respond to you and he is so warm and helpful. GET THIS APP AND THEN SUBSCRIBE! It is absolutely worth it and you’ll be using it again and again!

Don’t miss your favorite movie moments because you have to pee or need a snack. Use the RunPee app (Androidor iPhone) when you go to the movies. We have Peetimes for all wide release films every week, including DUNE part II, King Fu Panda, The American Society of Magical Negroes and coming soon Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and Godzilla x Kong: The new Empire and many others. We have literally thousands of Peetimes—from classic movies through today’s blockbusters. You can also keep up with movie news and reviews on our blog, or by following us on Twitter @RunPee. If there’s a new film out there, we’ve got your bladder covered.
Creator and developer of the RunPee app. When something doesn’t work right in the app it’s pretty much his fault. 🙂
Aspiring author. Would like to finish his “Zombie Revelations” trilogy if he could break away for working on RunPee and the cottage he’s building for RunPee Mom.
