Movie Review – Misbehaviour

misbehaviourMisbehaviour joins the growing list of films I remember actually happening in real life!

This took me back to England in the 70s. The clothing fashions were spot-on and the interior decor was eye-achingly accurate! Back in 1970 I was a thirteen year old with a normal teenager’s interest in the opposite sex, but even then I thought there was something odd about the whole thing.

The contestants were all pretty enough, but there always seemed something strange about the shape of them in their swimming costumes! TV consisted of only three channels and the Miss World competition was a very big deal. So for it to be publicly disrupted by a relatively new radical group was, quite literally, global news.

Misbehaviour rattles along at a nice pace. It is a straightforward, linear story with no twists, turns or head scratching. Didn’t he say or do something different earlier on plot devices?

The casting is good; if I say I thought Greg Kinnear’s take on Bob Hope was the weakest link, then I think that gives an indication of the standard. Rhys Ifans was good value as always, Gugu Mbatha-Raw was radiant, Keira Knightly and Keeley Hawes (who I always think of as interchangeable for some reason) were excellent.

But I was totally smitten by Jessie Buckley, who’s corkscrew ginger hair reminded me of a girl I was close to back in the seventies.

According to IMDb there’s no release date for this in the USA, so I don’t know how many people will get to see it, but if you get the chance I recommend a watch.

Grade: B+

About The Peetimes: This was a nice, linear story with no twists or turns so it was relatively easy to find a couple of Peetimes.

There are extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Misbehaviour. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)

Love love love this app. And, after receiving an email from Dan (the creator) that read as though it was a one-on-one communication sent only to me, I felt compelled to leave a long-overdue review. My son and I are absolutely addicted to this app…especially since I discovered it at the onset of the Marvel craze. Now we use it to confirm if there is a scene following the credits. Often times, we are the ONLY ones there watching the bonus scene…and it cracks us up. LOL! Thanks, RunPee!
