I want to credit Francis Ford Coppola for stepping outside his comfort zone and attempting something epic. I’ve read that he’s been working on this project for upwards of 40 years. It gives me no pleasure to say that Megalopolis misses on every account I can think of.
- The acting is stiff and feel unrehursed.
- The plot is, I don’t even know what.
- The pacing feels random.
The one good thing I can say is that the visuals are interesting. I would love to see this visual style combined with an actually good script.
