When are Peetimes for a newly released movie posted?

Unfortunately, no one involved with RunPee.com has access to pre-screenings of movies. So we have to wait just like everyone else to see a movie.

Our goal is to watch the opening showing of every wide-release movie—Usually late Thursday afternoon. There are usually 2-4 movies released each week. We try to get someone scheduled for each movie, but sometimes a Peep might need to see two movies which will delay the Peetimes for both.

Who writes the PeeTimes?
We have a staff of Peeps that get the Peetimes for all the movies. RunPee is a family-run business. Peetimes for most of the blockbuster movies are done by Dan Gardner (Founder/CEO) and his wife Vera, his sister Christene Johnson does all of the horror and many romance movies, and RunPee Mom does most of the children’s movies. We also have Rob Williams who helps us with movies in the UK, and Dana Simone pitches in every so often.

How do I become a Peep?
We’re always delighted to bring more people on board to help us do Peetimes for movies. But you should know that it’s not easy and the pay isn’t going to help you quit your day job. If you would like to know more I would suggest reading the following few posts:

Please email me [email protected] for more information.

How come some of your Peetimes suggest leaving at important plot points? I thought the PeeTimes were for the boring parts!

Actually, it’s super hard to find PeeTimes in good, well-edited movies. But we want to leave you with nothing. Sometimes the PeeTimes are simply spots in the movie that can be easily summed up, so you won’t be lost when you get back.

So, for example, in Harry Potter 6, we have a PeeTime where you miss Harry getting his Advanced Potions book. It’s important to the plot, but honestly easy to miss: he gets the book and realizes someone smart – but unknown – owned it previously. Easy to sum up and now you know what is going on.

Movie Watching Must Have!!

I go feral for this app. I love it so much and I wish everyone knew about it and used it. It is incredibly useful and I would be devastated if this app ever disappeared. Things I love: 1) the pee times! It’s so handy to know the best time to go and then read the synopsis of what’s happening while I’m gone. I never have to worry about missing the good bits! 2) knowing if there is a post-credits scene or not. This might be my fav feature because I would have missed out on some pretty critical scenes if it weren’t for RunPee. 3) the movie review and viewer rankings. This info has made me watch some movies that I normally wouldn’t and it’s nice seeing things outside of my usual scope. 4) that it’s a small family run business. I love shopping small and it really does feel like I’m part of the RunPee family! If you reach out to them, Dan will personally respond to you and he is so warm and helpful. GET THIS APP AND THEN SUBSCRIBE! It is absolutely worth it and you’ll be using it again and again!

There has to be a scene of at least three-four minutes where you can skip out and not worry you wasted your hard-earned movie ticket money – we want you to be able to slip back into the movie and be able to pick up the gist of things. So we look for scenes that can be described in a few words.

Where are the Limited Release Movies? And the Independent Films?

We try to add Peetimes for as many movies as we can. We do all of the wide-release movies and a handful of limited releases. Our general rule of thumb is to watch all of the movies that come to our local eight-screen AMC theater.

Don’t miss your favorite movie moments because you have to pee or need a snack. Use the RunPee app (Androidor iPhone) when you go to the movies. We have Peetimes for all wide release films every week, including Wicked, Gladiator II, Red One, The Wild Robot and coming soon  Moana 2, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, Kraven the Hunter, Mufasa: The Lion King and many others. We have literally thousands of Peetimes—from classic movies through today’s blockbusters. You can also keep up with movie news and reviews on our blog, or by following us on Twitter @RunPee. If there’s a new film out there, we’ve got your bladder covered.

times are listed with a cue, which is helpful, but when does the timer start, exactly?I’d rather just watch the time ,depending on how the bladder is doing, instead of watching for 3 different cues, then bolt for the door.

    1. Start the timer after the movie credits, just as the actual movie begins. To be specific: each movie begins with the production companies involved showing their snazzy logos. You know like: DreamWorks, 20th Century Fox, ect. There are usually 2-3 companies listed. When we are getting peetimes we start our timers AFTER the very first company is listed. So it might show DreamWorks, and then 2 more lesser known production companies so we would start the timer after DreamWorks.

  2. If I look at pee times the day before the movie, will I need another pee coin when I’m actually in the theater?

  3. Hey Rich,
Not at all. Once you spend a Peecoin for the Peetimes for a movie you can go back as many times as you want. However, there was a bug in previous versions where of the app where under some conditions the app would forget and charge you again. The most recent version of the RunPee app is 6.2+. You can see the version number by tapping the menu icon at the top-right, select the App Settings tab at the top and then About RunPee. That will display a dialog with the version number at the top.
There are also many places in the app where you can contact me directly, so you don’t have to mess around with comments on a blog. But whatever works best for you is fine with me.
Please let me know if you think of anything we can do to make the RunPee app better for you.
